Ontix has been selected as the local infrastructure partner in the next phase of the Mayor of London’s Breathe London programme. Led by Vodafone, this four-year initiative will significantly expand and enhance London’s air quality monitoring network, providing highly accurate data, supporting communities across the capital to understand, monitor, and act on air quality where they live and work.
The four-year renewal of this initiative, which first launched in 2020, builds on London’s existing monitoring network and provides a new approach to data quality by extracting high-resolution data from the air quality sensors and processing it, then comparing and aligning the insights with standard reference monitors to ensure its accuracy and reliability. This will give Londoners access to more robust, high-resolution data.
Ontix’s expertise in deploying local infrastructure will be crucial in identifying and enabling additional sensor locations, leveraging Vodafone’s Global IoT connectivity and existing network infrastructure. This partnership underscores Ontix’s commitment to supporting smart city initiatives and leveraging infrastructure solutions for the benefit of urban environments and public health.
